Parenting Resources

Invitation for Parents

Parents are the artisans of their children’s lives. In their homes, future human beings are formed and learn to choose and act to do good and leave this world better than how they found it.
Behind every gesture, behavior or action that a human being performs, there is a family group that set the example to follow, for better or for worse.
In these times the family is subject to many pressures and cultural changes. Parents or those responsible for the maintenance, care and education of their children are sometimes disoriented, stressed by socio-economic conditions and with few emotional and spiritual resources to face the complex situations they live.
There is no other more appropriate strategy than constant training, support and accompaniment to families in the multiple areas that are required for their integral development: biological, social, psychological and spiritual.
From the Office of Family and Spiritual Life we want to offer our support and companionship by sharing resources and activities to strengthen the family, the “domestic Church” in each home.

Common Questions from Parents

A Parent’s Prayer

Loving God,
You are the giver of all we possess,
the source of all of our blessings.
We thank and praise you.

Thank you for the gift of our children.

Help us to set boundaries for them,
and yet encourage them to explore.
Give us the strength and courage to treat
each day as a fresh start.

May our children come to know you, the one true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

May your Holy Spirit help them to grow
in faith, hope, and love,
so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.

May their ears hear your voice.
May their eyes see your presence in all things.
May their lips proclaim your word.
May their hearts be your dwelling place.
May their hands do works of charity.
May their feet walk in the way of Jesus Christ,
your Son and our Lord.
