Prayers and Devotions

A message from Pope Francis

Through the Desert God Leads us to Freedom: Part 2
The exodus from slavery to freedom is no abstract journey. If our celebration of Lent is to be concrete, the first step is to desire to open our eyes to reality.
When the Lord calls out to Moses from the burning bush, he immediately shows that he is a God who sees and, above all, hears: “I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey” (Ex 3:7-8).
Today too, the cry of so many of our oppressed brothers and sisters rises to heaven. Let us ask ourselves: Do we hear that cry? Does it trouble us? Does it move us? All too many things keep us apart from each other, denying the fraternity that, from the beginning, binds us to one another.

Daily Prayers

We invite you to pray with us.
Saint Michael

SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL,
DEFEND US IN BATTLE.
BE OUR PROTECTION AGAINST THE WICKEDNESS
AND SNARES OF THE DEVIL;
MAY GOD REBUKE HIM, WE HUMBLY PRAY;
AND DO THOU, O PRINCE OF THE HEAVENLY HOST,
BY THE POWER OF GOD, THRUST INTO HELL SATAN
AND ALL EVIL SPIRITS WHO WANDER
THROUGH THE WORLD FOR THE RUIN OF SOULS.
AMEN.

San Miguel Arcángel

SAN MIGUEL ARCÁNGEL,
DEFIÉNDENOS EN LA LUCHA Y SÉ NUESTRO AMPARO
CONTRA LA PERVERSIDAD Y LAS ASECHANZAS
DEL DEMONIO.
QUE DIOS, MANIFIESTE SOBRE EL SU PODER,
ES NUESTRA HUMILDE SUPLICA,
Y TU PRÍNCIPE DE LA MILICIA CELESTIAL CON EL PODER
QUE DIOS TE HA CONCEDIDO ARROJA AL INFIERNO
A SATANÁS Y A LOS ESPÍRITUS MALIGNOS
QUE ANDAN DISPERSOS POR EL MUNDO
PARA LA PERDICIÓN DE LAS ALMAS.

AMÉN.

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in you!

Eternal God, in whom Mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible. Look kindly upon us and increase your Mercy in us, so that in difficult moments, we may not despair nor become despondent but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.
